m.ac is a static website that runs entirely on my own servers. There are no accounts, comments, newsletters, or sign-up forms, so there is very little of your data for me to have in the first place.
#What gets collected
##Server logs
Like almost every web server, mine keeps standard access logs: IP address, requested page, time, and browser user agent. I use them to spot abuse and debug problems, and for nothing else.
##Analytics
I run a self-hosted copy of Plausible at stat.m.ac. For each page view it records the page URL, the referrer, your browser and operating system, device type, and country. It sets no cookies, and your IP address is never stored. The data stays on my server and is not shared with anyone.
If you write to me, I'll have your email address and whatever you sent. I use that to reply, and that's it.
#Cookies
The site sets no cookies. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's localStorage and never sent to the server. Search runs entirely in your browser too.
#Third-party services
None. Analytics, fonts, images, and the site itself are all served from infrastructure I run. Two caveats:
- A few older posts embed images from external hosts (tenor.com, for example). Loading those images sends your IP address and user agent to that host, just like loading any image elsewhere on the web.
- Links to other platforms (Mastodon, X, Bluesky, and so on) are covered by those sites' own privacy policies once you click through.
#Data sharing
I don't sell, rent, or trade anything, and short of a legal obligation I can't refuse, nothing gets shared.
#Your rights
If you've emailed me and want that correspondence deleted, ask and it's gone. Beyond that, there is no personal data tied to you for me to produce, correct, or delete.
#Changes
If the site ever starts doing something new with data, this page will change with it, with a new date at the top.
#Contact
Questions go to the contact page.
